Walnut Valley Unified School District is saddened to share that Assistant Superintendent of Business Services Kenneth (Kenny) Goodson passed on February 12. He was 47 years old.

Kenny joined Walnut Valley six years ago as the Director of Technology.  His contribution to the vast growth of the District’s technology program and impact on students and staff was remarkable.

He established the Help Desk, expanded technology coaching and engineer positions, improved the WiFi infrastructure across all sites, moved the District into a current email system, instituted the laptop refresh program for staff, created groundwork that allowed all schools to increase their technology offerings to students or go 1:1 with devices, and streamlined the budget to cut costs.

Since being appointed as Assistant Superintendent of Business Services about a year ago, he had a positive impact on the entire division.

His visionary work helped the District address the deficit within the state budget and provided oversight and leadership of bond measure funds.  Most recently, he was instrumental in helping the District receive an upgraded Aa1 credit rating.

The Kenneth Goodson Memorial Scholarship Fund has been established and checks payable to the Walnut Valley Educational Foundation (Kenneth Goodson Memorial Scholarship Fund in memo line) may be sent to P.O. Box 485, Walnut, CA 91789 or through paypal by taping the button below.
